New reggae collaboration released - Reggae Sax

By Published August 27, 2018

Reggae compilation album Reggae Sax Riddim continues to be one of the hottest albums in the genre following its 2017 release. The reggae compilation showcases tracks from an eclectic list of artists. Each puts their own signature on the album's track list, giving reggae fans a truly unique album experience.

Recorded in studios in the United States, United Kingdom, and Kingston, Jamaica, Reggae Sax Riddim's sound shows the diversity of each locale. The album's final mixing was completed at famed Big Yard studio in Kingston. With song lyrics focusing on topics ranging from love and relationships to society and social issues, Reggae Sax Riddim explores each subject as only reggae music can.

Reggae Sax Riddim features a list of who's who performers and up and coming stars in the genre. Grammy nominee Jah Cure's "Lion in the Jungle" is the lead track that starts the album and truly sets the tone for the rest of Reggae Sax Riddim. The music is crisp and provides the vehicle that Jah Cure's lyrics travel within. One of Reggae Sax Riddim's highlights is the collaboration between world-famous EDM Grammy winning producer Taranchyla, and famed battle rappers Charlie Clips and DNA.

The result of their work, "Ghetto Youths", is a fantastic mixture of reggae and hip-hop. Listeners will find one of the aspects that sets Reggae Sax Riddim apart from other compilation albums in the genre is the saxophone played over the tracks. All music for the tracks was played and recorded live, giving the album a clean, rich feel found on few other reggae records today. Reggae Sax Riddim is also one of the few reggae albums to feature a classical instrument played in a song. Chache's "Verfuhrung" is a masterful song crafted by the German musician. It features Chache playing violin throughout the track and offers reggae fans a different take on their favourite music genre.
